Agreement & electronic communications

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Friend Quiz at https://friendquiz.org/ (the “Service”), operated by us (“Friend Quiz”, “we”, “us”), including quizzes, Verthi Moments, Pritvi, badges, and related pages. By visiting or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not want these Terms to apply, stop using the Service. When you create a quiz we show a switch so you can record that you agree to the current Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. That switch is optional: you may leave it off and still create a quiz. Hosting that quiz is still covered by these Terms. Creating a Verthi Moments page, joining as a contributor, or uploading a moment still requires an explicit accept on those screens.

You consent to receive notices and agreements electronically (including by posting updates on the Service). Optional emails are skippable. You are responsible for keeping contact details accurate if you provide them.

The Service (no guarantee of availability)

Friend Quiz lets you create friendship-style quizzes, share links, collect attempts, and view scores or leaderboards. One optional create path lets you type what you like so ChatGPT can write the ten questions and create the quiz; you can skip that path. It also lets you create Verthi Moments: a shared page for a group chat where a creator and invited contributors can add photos, short videos, screenshots, links, and text notes (“moments”). An optional on-site AI guide named Pritvi can answer questions about how the Service works; his replies are generated by ChatGPT and are not human support. Features may change, pause, or be discontinued at any time with or without notice. We may run maintenance, impose limits, or block abusive traffic. We do not guarantee minimum uptime, storage, preservation of any quiz, score, Verthi Moments page, moment, or message, or compatibility with every device or browser.

Not professional advice; assumption of risk

The Service is for casual social entertainment only. Quizzes, scores, rankings, Pritvi replies, and copy on the site are not evaluations of personality, mental health, fitness for school/work, relationship suitability, or any regulated purpose. You waive any claim that we owe you a duty of care beyond hosting the Service as described. You assume the risk of using entertainment software, including that scores, ads, ChatGPT replies, or other users’ content may be inaccurate, offensive, or unavailable.

Pritvi & ChatGPT

Pritvi is optional and experimental. Typed questions are sent to ChatGPT to generate a reply. Starter chips may be answered locally. Pritvi cannot see your quiz, email, scores, or photos. He cannot log you in, change a quiz, or delete data. He is not a lawyer, doctor, therapist, or Friend Quiz employee. Replies can be wrong, invented, incomplete, biased, or out of date. They are not statements of Friend Quiz, not official support, and not professional advice. If something matters for your account or data, use the official pages on Friend Quiz or the contact form - not the chat.

If you use Write a quiz from what you like, the words you type are sent to ChatGPT to write questions and create the quiz. Those questions can be wrong, generic, or a poor fit. You can still create a quiz the usual way instead. Image options are not part of this path. The same limits as Pritvi apply: do not paste passwords, login codes, payment cards, or other people’s private data, and do not use it for prohibited activity.

You use Pritvi at your sole risk. We do not warrant that generated text is accurate, original, or non-infringing. You may not present a Pritvi reply as a Friend Quiz commitment. ChatGPT may be unavailable, rate-limited, or filtered; that third-party service is outside our control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Friend Quiz has no liability for your reliance on Pritvi or ChatGPT (see Section 13).

You must not use Pritvi to seek help with hacking, phishing, scraping, impersonation, harassment, child sexual exploitation, or other prohibited activity, or to try to override these Terms. We may rate-limit, screen, refuse, or end a chat. You are responsible for what you paste into Pritvi. Do not paste passwords, login codes, payment cards, or other people’s private messages.

Eligibility

You represent that you have legal capacity to agree where you live. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the Service only with a parent/guardian’s permission where required by law. The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the digital-consent age in your jurisdiction).

Accounts, devices & security

Creators can use the Service with browser cookies alone. Adding an email is optional. If you add or change one, we first email a 5-digit code to that inbox and store the address only after you enter it. You can then log into that account later from any device by requesting a one-time login code we send to that inbox (letters and numbers, grouped 8–7). You are responsible for keeping that inbox under your control. Skip stores no email. You can download or delete data at Your data. You are responsible for activity conducted through your browser/device/network and, if you enabled login, through codes sent to that email. We use HTTPS and keep improving safeguards, but no website is perfectly secure. Notify us via the contact form if you believe someone is impersonating the Service or misusing your quiz links.

User content & license

Anything you submit - quiz text, answers, nicknames, scores, optional profile photos, contact-form messages, Verthi Moments (including photos, clips, screenshots, links, and notes), messages you send to Pritvi, and similar uploads - is “User Content.” You retain ownership you already had; by submitting User Content you grant Friend Quiz a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, reproduce, transmit, display, distribute, adapt (for formatting, security, or accessibility), and create technical copies as needed to operate, secure, moderate, promote, and improve the Service (including sending Pritvi messages to ChatGPT to generate a reply, and sending optional profile photos to ChatGPT safety tools for screening).

You represent and warrant you have all rights needed to grant the license above and that your User Content does not violate law or third-party rights (including privacy, publicity, copyright, and trademark). You are solely responsible for what you type, upload, and what you invite others to share. Creating a quiz is use of the Service under these Terms even if you leave the optional accept switch off. Creating a Verthi Moments page, joining as a contributor, or uploading a moment is an affirmative agreement to these Terms and acknowledgement of the Privacy Policy when we ask you to accept them on those screens.

Verthi Moments (group memory pages)

Verthi Moments is one shared page for a group. The creator starts it. Contributors add moments after using a contributor invite (a separate link, or an email invite). Viewers can look if they have the page’s view link. Viewing and contributing are not the same permission. A Verthi Moments page with a view link is typically unlisted: it is not listed as a public feed on Friend Quiz, but anyone who has the view link can open it.

Only share moments you have the right to post. For photos, clips, and especially screenshots of private messages, you should have permission from the people involved, or another lawful basis, before putting them on a Verthi Moments page. Do not upload intimate imagery, child sexual abuse material, or anyone’s private data you are not allowed to share.

The creator can remove moments, pause new contributions, revoke an email invite, and rotate a contributor link. We may also remove or restrict Verthi Moments pages or moments that appear to violate these Terms, and viewers may report a page. We are not obligated to monitor every Verthi Moments page. Links you add to Verthi Moments point to third-party sites we do not control.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may investigate suspected violations, cooperate with law enforcement, preserve evidence, and remove or restrict content or access. We may use automated tools and human review to refuse, queue, or remove User Content.

Community disputes & release

If you share quiz links off-platform, disputes between you and your friends, followers, or message recipients are between those parties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Friend Quiz and its operators from claims arising from interactions or content shared outside our servers or caused by other users’ choices.

Copyright / DMCA-style notices (US & similar regimes)

We respect intellectual property. If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice through our contact form with: (a) identification of the work, (b) identification of the material and its location (URL), (c) your contact details, (d) a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized, and (e) a statement under penalty of perjury (where applicable) that your claim is accurate and you are authorized to act. We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material and terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.

If you believe content was removed in error, you may respond with a counter-notice containing the information required by applicable law.

Intellectual property (ours)

The Friend Quiz name, logos, design, software, and media we provide are owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you to use the Service, no rights are granted. Do not frame, mirror, or commercially exploit the Service without written permission.

Third-party services

Ads, analytics, fonts, maps, social widgets, payment processors (if any), ChatGPT (used for Pritvi and content safety), and similar integrations are provided by third parties. Their terms and privacy policies govern their collection and use of data. We are not responsible for third-party services or linked sites. Pritvi can be wrong; check official pages on Friend Quiz if something matters for your account or data.

Virtual items (badges)

The Service may offer purely cosmetic virtual items (for example, “badges” pinned next to names on a quiz scoreboard). Virtual items: (a) are licenses to a digital decoration, not property, currency, or anything redeemable for money; (b) never affect quiz scores or rankings; (c) are delivered instantly and are non-refundable except where required by law; (d) may be removed where they violate these Terms or where the underlying payment is refunded, reversed, or disputed; and (e) may be discontinued if the feature or the Service changes or ends. Purchases are processed by our payment provider (currently Dodo Payments) as merchant of record; their checkout terms and privacy policy apply to the transaction, including receipts and applicable taxes. Every purchasable item shows exactly what it is and what it costs before payment - no randomized or “mystery” paid outcomes are sold.

Disclaimers of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be secure, error-free, virus-free, or that defects will be corrected. We do not warrant that Pritvi, ChatGPT, ads, scores, or other users’ content will be accurate, available, or appropriate for you.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in those jurisdictions, disclaimers apply to the maximum extent permitted.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Friend Quiz and its owners, operators, affiliates, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of fifty United States dollars (USD $50) or the amounts you actually paid us for the Service in the six (6) months before the event giving rise to the claim. For most users the paid amount is zero, so the cap is typically USD $50. This cap applies individually and is not aggregated with other users’ claims. It applies to claims about Pritvi, ChatGPT, advertising, scores, Verthi Moments, and other users’ content, whether based in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited (for example death or personal injury caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct where such a rule is mandatory).

Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Friend Quiz and its operators, affiliates, and personnel from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, your misuse of the Service (including Pritvi), your violation of these Terms or law, or your violation of third-party rights. We may assume exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification; you will cooperate.

Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access, delete or withhold content, or block addresses without notice where we reasonably believe it necessary for security, legal compliance, or abuse prevention. You may stop using the Service anytime. Provisions that by their nature should survive (licenses to the extent needed to operate archival/backups, disclaimers, limitations, indemnity, governing law) survive termination.

Governing law; informal resolution; venue

Unless mandatory consumer-protection laws where you live require otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Friend Quiz is primarily operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would apply another jurisdiction’s laws.

Before filing a legal claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us through the contact page and describing the issue; we will attempt good-faith cooperation.

Subject to mandatory local rules, exclusive venue for disputes shall lie in the courts of that same jurisdiction; you consent to personal jurisdiction there. If you are a consumer in the EEA/UK, you may also have rights to sue in your country of residence where applicable law requires.

Class action waiver (where permitted)

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, disputes must be brought solely in your individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding. If a court finds this waiver unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim may proceed in court; the remainder stays in effect.

Limitation period

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of the Service or these Terms must be filed within one (1) year after the claim accrues, or be permanently barred. If a longer period is mandatory where you live, that period applies instead.

Force majeure

We are not liable for failures or delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including internet outages, hosting failures, labor disputes, natural disasters, war, terrorism, or government action.

Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version and revising the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service. Material changes may include additional notice where appropriate.

Severability & entire agreement

If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Friend Quiz regarding the Service and supersede prior understandings on this subject. Headings are for convenience only. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms do not create third-party beneficiary rights except as needed for people we indemnify. You and Friend Quiz are independent; these Terms do not create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
